Ja n 20 04 Analysis of charged particle emission sources and coalescence in E / A = 61 MeV 36 Ar + 27 Al , 112 Sn and 124 Sn collisions

چکیده
Single-particle kinetic energy spectra and two-particle small angle correlations of protons (p), deuterons (d) and tritons (t) have been measured simultaneously in 61A MeV Ar + Al, Sn and Sn collisions. Characteristics of the emission sources have been derived from a “source identification plot” (βsource–ECM plot), constructed from the single-particle invariant spectra, and compared to the complementary results from two-particle correlation functions. Furthermore, the source identification plot has been used to determine the conditions when the coalescence mechanism can be applied for composite particles. In our data, this is the case only for the Ar + Al reaction, where p, d and t are found to originate from a common source of emission (from the overlap region between target and projectile). In this case, the coalescence model parameter, p̃0 – the radius of the complex particle emission source in momentum space, has been analyzed. PACS number(s): 24.10.-i,25.70.Pq, 29.30.Hs

متن کاملIsospin dependent multi - fragmentation in 112 Sn + 112 Sn and 124 Sn + 124 Sn collisions
Significant differences in the relationships between fragment, neutron, and charged particle multiplicities were found between Sn+Sn and Sn+Sn collisions at 40 MeV/A. In this paper we explore the possibility to explain this phenomenon in the framework of percolation models, and find, that the results are only reproducible in part.
متن کاملMultifragment Production in Reactions of 112 Sn 1 112 Sn and 124 Sn 1 124 Sn at E y A 5 40 MeV
Multiplicities of intermediate-mass fragments (IMFs), neutrons, and charged particles were measured for 112Sn 1 112Sn and 124Sn 1 124Sn at EyA 40 MeV. Significantly different scalings of the mean IMF multiplicities with neutron and charged-particle multiplicities are observed for the two reactions. These differences can be qualitatively understood in terms of fragment emission from an expandi...

The sizes, temperatures and free neutron to proton ratios of the initial interaction zones produced in the collisions of 40 MeV/nucleon Ar + Sn and 55 MeV/nucleonAl + Sn are derived using total detected neutron plus charged particle multiplicity as a measure of the impact parameter range and number of participant nucleons. The size of the initial interaction zone, determined from a coalescence ...
متن کاملDetermining Source Size in Heavy-Ion Collisions
We apply the imaging technique in order to extract the size of emitting sources produced in intermediate-energy, heavy-ion nuclear reactions. In this work, central collisions of Ar+Sc at E/A=100, 150 MeV, Kr+Nb at E/A=70,100,120 MeV, and Sn+Sn at E/A=50 MeV are examined. In addition, inclusive data of He+Ag and N+Au are analyzed. We determine the source size in two different ways: the number of...
